Trojan Horsemen

The Trojan Horsemen Flight Demonstration Team combines the raw power and noise of a warbird and the finesse of aerial formation acrobatics. Most of the pilots are ex-military with one 1970s graduate from NAS Meridian.

F4U Corsair

The F4U Corsair was used by one of the most famous squadrons in the world, the "Black Sheep Squadron". One of the most unique features of the Corsair is the gull-wing design. This allowed for a gigantic 13-ft 2-in diameter propeller. This particular Corsair was used during the Korean War.

TA-4J Skyhawk

This TA-4 Skyhawk is owned by the Collins Foundation and no longer serves under the DOD. The Skyhawk performed many roles such as being used as a trainer for the US Navy and Marines, used in Close Air Support (CAS) in Vietnam, and used in the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron.

NORTH AMERICAN T-2 BUCKEYE

The T-2 Buckeye was the intermediate stage jet trainer for the U.S. Navy. The first of the Buckeyes flew on January 31, 1958. Early in its life it was upgraded from a single engine aircraft to a twin engine. The Buckeye was replaced by the T-45 Goshawk.

NORTH AMERICAN P-51 MUSTANG

One of the great workhorses of World War II is the P-51 Mustang. Its V-12 Merlin engine will fill the air with its unforgettable sound.




GRUMMAN FM-2 WILDCAT

The Wildcat is an early fighter of the Pacific theater in World War II. Many US Navy pilots became aces in this war bird. One of the most famous battles with the Wildcat was the Coral Sea.


Grumman F6F Hellcat

The F6F Hellcat had the highest Kill/Loss ratio of any American fighter plane in Army, Navy, or Marines service during WWII. It also had the largest wing area of any single engine fighter of WWII at 334 square feet.

Curtiss SB2C Helldiver

The Helldiver was a late to getting to WWII by replacing the Douglas SBD Dauntless. Its capable of traveling faster than the SBD even though it is much heaver and bigger.



B-25 MITCHELL

This small but effective bomber was used in all theaters of World War II as well as the Dolittle raids on Japan. Come see this historic bomber fly at NAS Meridian.



NORTH AMERICAN L-17 NAVION

The Navion is a successful civilian aircraft turned military. Purchased by the US Air Force as liaison aircraft, personnel/cargo carriers, and trainers.



BOEING STEARMAN

Boeing Aircraft manufactured 10,250 Stearmans as models, PT-13 and PT-17, N2S-1, N2S-2, N2S-3 and the N2S-4 for the Army and Navy. This made it the most successful primary trainer of World War II.

North American AT-6 Texan

The AT-6 was designed for the sole purpose of preparing new pilots to fly the most advanced fighters of World War II. The "Texan" was to The Greatest Generation what the T-38 is to new fighter pilots today. It was the final two-seater a young man would see before being sent into combat in his Mustang, Corsair, Thunderbolt, or other top-of-the line fighter of the day.

Grumman C-1 Trader

The C-1 Trader was a derivitave of E-1 and S-2 aircraft. The C-1 was fitted with nine seats for transport of percenal to and from the aircraft carrier known as Carrier On-board Delivery (COD).
